Alright, I have a little something to say for National Suicide Prevention Month. Tommy bought me this ring Labor Day Weekend at the Bristol Renaissance Faire for our 18th wedding anniversary. The thing is that it's an amber ring, and I'm a bit of a crystal enthusiast, so I have books on the metaphysical properties of crystals (even though I'm a Catholic) and amber is said to fight depression and suicidal thoughts. So, I wear amber in much the same way that others get semicolon tattoos (Project Semicolon). Not in place of treatment, of course, just as an additional pick-me-up. And I wasn't even thinking about September being National Suicide Prevention Month on that sunny day at the Renaissance Faire when Tommy bought me the ring!
